UL certified
Rest assured, the Byrne 8-Trac and Dekko 8-Wire systems used by the Power & Data Rail are UL certified.
We recommend and typically use Byrne 8-Trac, but you have the option to substitute Dekko 8-Wire UL183 to avoid any supply lead time issues or delays.
Data delivered
Each Power & Data Rail includes Byrne data plate and adapter kits (pdf).
These kits add the ability to install different types of data jacks or couplers, such as ethernet ports, on the face of the rail.
Data ports
Two ports accept network ethernet cables that are routed through the rail.
If you choose not to install data into the rail, a blank plate is provided to cover the unused ports.
Jacks and ethernet cables are not included.
Benching
Keep the workspace aligned! If used with UPLIFT V2 or UPLIFT V2-Commercial Desks, set the desk feet leveling glides into the patented benching pockets in the Power & Data Rail feet.
For desks of any make, simply adjust the leveling glides and set the desk feet on top of the flat, low-profile post feet of the Power & Data rail.

Patented telescoping rail system
Rail telescopes horizontally & vertically to fit any desk size.
Other rails on the market require fitting desks to fixed rail lengths and post heights, making it impossible to change layouts if you ever need to expand, adapt, or innovate down the line—which you will. The UPLIFT Power & Data Rail enables changes on the fly as desks are installed and reconfigured. Every business owner knows that as a company grows, the workspace needs to grow with it. That's why the Power & Data Rail is equipped with patented advanced telescoping capabilities, allowing adjustment of both post height and rail width to suit all sorts of workspaces.
The adjustable post height allows for the rail to be set at a height that doesn’t interfere with desks or accessories like monitor arms and optimizes the optional privacy panel height for users.
Power & Data Rails are compatible with nearly all desk widths with just two different rail sizes and telescope to fit desktops from 38" to 82" wide. Competitors' designs often require purchasing a new fixed rail width each time you reconfigure, which is expensive and impractical.
The near limitless configurability supports today's growing technology demands and increasingly open and flexible office setups. With the UPLIFT Power & Data Rail, you'll never have to buy additional metal parts until you're ready to add more desks. If you are changing desk sizes, simply add new jumper cables and the telescoping rail is ready to be reconfigured.
Height range
All UPLIFT Power & Data Rails can telescope vertically, adjusting the height from the floor to the top of the rail from 17" to 24" (7" of travel).
Short Rail width range
The Short Rail telescopes 16.75" to accommodate desktops from 38" to 51" wide.
Long Rail width range
The Long Rail telescopes 31" to accommodate desktops from 55" to 82" wide.

Reduce noise
With a 0.85 Noise Reduction Rating (NRC) value, PET Acoustic Privacy Panels capture 85% of the sound waves that contact them, while just 15% will reflect back into the room.
Enhance privacy
The Frosted Acrylic Privacy Panels offer a sophisticated look, albeit without the acoustic dampening.
Uniform height
Privacy panels attached to the fixed height of a Power & Data Rail present a uniform appearance when looking across the office. Or attach Acoustic or Frosted Acrylic Privacy Panels directly to height adjustable desks to have the panels move up and down with the desks.
Power source infeed options
Wall or floor outlet
Plug into wall or floor outlets with a 20-amp type plug configuration and power up to four desks from a single, 20-amp type outlet (5-amps power draw per workstation). Doesn't require an electrician to install.
Hardwired
Hardwire to an electrical supply in your wall or floor and power up to 16 desks with one power infeed from up to four 20-amp circuits (assuming a typical power draw of 5-amps per workstation). Requires a licensed electrician to install.
Power & Data Pole
This telescoping vertical pole conceals and distributes power and data connections from the ceiling to the Power & Data Rail to support workstations anywhere in your business, even locations far from wall outlets.
Pole telescopes to accommodate ceilings between 8' to 12' high and supports wiring for up to four 20-amp power runs and up to 16 ethernet data cable runs.
The Power & Data Pole can be added to any configuration of the Power & Data Rail system and joined to a rail in multiple ways:
Attach the pole directly to the rail posts using the included brackets
Position the pole on any post along the Power & Data Rail row, whether the post is in middle of a rail or at the ends of a row
The pole can attach to any open side of a post where no rail is attached

City of Chicago exclusion
The UPLIFT Power and Data Rail can be outfitted with either the Byrne 8-Trac or Dekko 8-Wire system. While both systems are UL certified, the city of Chicago does not allow the use of modular power systems. All electrical components for systems furniture in Chicago must be hardwired by a licensed electrician. Therefore, plug-and-play systems such as this, or any other Power and Data Rail system are not compliant in Chicago. For more information, please contact a licensed electrician that is familiar with Chicago office requirements.

Other benching solutions
Add structure & collaboration to your workspace
Neatly align and space out your desks with the Benching System for V1 or V2 Desks. Avoid having to buy a specific “benched desk” set that can’t be separated. This system can be removed and reinstalled to give your growing office maximum flexibility. Connects a single row or a back-to-back row of desks, allowing you to bench together multiple desks to keep desks organized and increase team collaboration and productivity.
The benching system is not necessary if you have UPLIFT V2 or V2-Commercial Desks and a UPLIFT Power & Data Rail system as the Rail system will also bench your desk.
